USB DUX: Technical Specification
General
- USB 1.1 and USB 2.0
- Comedi Driver: www.comedi.org.
- Asynchronous sampling. This means that sampling can be performed in the background while the main application is doing something else (see comedi's "cmd").
- Power supply via the USB, no external supply
- Electrically isolated analogue input and output stage (1000V)
- Asynchronous acquisition holds for up to 16 USB devices (subject to resources/ processor speed).
A/D converter
- 8 channels
- 12 bit resolution
- Single ended
- Input range (can be set by software):
- Unipolar: 0. . . 4.096V, 0. . . 2.048V
- Bipolar: -4.096V. . . 4.096V, -2.048V . . . 2.048V
- Input resistance: 10M
- Sampling rate (asynchronously in the background):
- USB 1.0: All channels simultaneously at a rate of 1kHz (e.g. every USB frame)
- USB 2.0: 8kHz/channel (e.g. one channel every 125us)
D/A converter
- 4 channels
- 12 bit resolution
- Output range:
- Unipolar: 0. . . 4.096V
- Bipolar: -4.096V. . . 4.096V
The different output ranges appear at different pins of the connectors.
- Max output current: 20mA
- Sampling rate (asynchronously): All channels simultaneously at a rate of 1kHz (e.g. every USB frame)
8 bit digital I/O
- Direction is programmable via comedi.
- 2 up/down/reset counters (500Hz sampling rate)
Connectivity: USBDUX-D
- D connectors only
- Female 25 pin D connector electrically isolated for analogue I/O with +/-5V supply and Vref.
- Female 15 pin D connector for the digital I/O.
Physical Dimensions
- Enclosure: 144x90x30mm
